I could meet someone, fall madly in love, put years into a relationship, and it might not work out. That happens every single day.

Indeed. Happened to me and I went through all 5 stages of Kubler-Ross’ grief and mourning. Stage 5 is acceptance.

6 years together, 10 years since we last spoke. No love relationship since.

It wasn’t a perfect relationship, but great memories nonetheless. I learned a lot, too. I think I’d do better now if given the opportunity. But I’m 71, so the odds are against it.

I really enjoyed your article. You write so well about love being the one thing you cannot work hard for and materialize.

As the saying goes “We plan and God laughs”….
